Dear Diary,
Today was my first day in the workhouse,. It's horrible. They expect me to work 15fifteen hours every day, plus if you think this couldn't get any worse, I have to start work at 5am. Being my first day, they did let me off forafter working 10ten hours.
The air inside the place is disgusting,; the machines spit ourout smoke, which makes it painful to breathe. Mum says I need to work, though,; we need the money to buy food from the markets. A Normal sizenormal sized meal for me would cost about $2, on.00. On top of that, I have to pay for my grandma,; so around $5.00 for us each day ($35 for a week of meals.). The problem is I only make $9.00 a week.
I'll see you tomorrow after work is over, it's getting late and I have to be up early for tomorrow.

PS. Before I leave, here's what I had today;: a piece of bread and one slice of bacon, 50c$.50.
