Dear Runners
Welcome to the 6th Running of The Centennial Park Ultra, presented by Running Science.
We are delighted to have Running Science as this year’s’ presenting partner. Like us, they are focusing on what’s best for the runners in all aspects of a runners’s requirements (footwear, appearels, and podiatry set up). It very much aligns with us,; it beist a company founded on the philosophy ‘For runners and runners’ This year, we aim to continue to bring the best runners experience.
Centennial Park Ultra was founded on the 50km and 100km solo events. They are running 14 and 28 laps of the famous white fence, respectively. As you might have heard me saying, i Centennial Park Ultra is not just a physical challenge, but that of a mental one, too. Running a lap event is mentally intense - While it’s easy to pace and strategisze nutrition and support crew, it can be very tempting to want to rest every 3.54km laps.
We are excited to welcome 45 more teams across both the 50km and 100km team entries. With the runners pit lane and tag team zone working well last year, we will continue to keep that setup while we refine on the details. Each relay team this year will be handed a sash - The sash is to be worn over the shoulder and hip, and handed over to the next runner like a baton. This is to allow us, the organiszers, to better distinguish the bigger relay runners. Please refer to the runners guide on the colour of sash you will be wearing.
We would like to welcome the 14 marathon runners. We would like to highlight 4 of them who will be attempting their first 42.195km.
On behalf of the team, we would like to thank you for your support and participation, and look forward to having all of your for the 2016 Centennial Park Ultra, presented by Running Science.
