I am pleased to announce that our Accelerated Reader program is now open. I have placed a sheet of paper inside your mailbox a sheet of paper with the usernames/ passwords of your students. You can email me if you need a student deleted or added to your classroom. In an effort to help students adjust to this program, starting Monday, you should test every student to determine his or her reading level, and you then will be able to set AR point goals for them for the quarter. I am requiringe each student to meet 100% of their AR goals for the quarters to attend the AR Celebration. An introduction to the Accelerated Reading program has been attached to this letter, whichand will explain in more detail the AR program and hints to make your students successful. I strongly encourage you to print a weekly progress report off to give to each student. I would love for you to keep a Data Wall of the AR goal for your class.

I am also pleased to announce a partnership with AR Renaissance Place, called Home Connect. This is a web-based program that allows parents to track reading and vocabulary progress in AR from home. I will be emailing you shortly the information to send home with the students shortly.
