The article,There’s Never Been a Drug Law That Wasn’t Around Race” had an

interesting topic. Every drug law has always been tied
down to race. The first opiate laws affected

the Chinese people. The first cocaine laws
awere targainseted toward black people. The marijuana laws targeted

the Mexican people. According to the article
, “In all these cases there’s a fundamental tie-in and

that’s around economic policy. They were worried about blacks coming up from the South taking

jobs, the Chinese men who were here building the railroad and what else would happen after that

was gone, and Mexicans coming up from Mexico and taking jobs.” There has never been a drug

law that
wasdidn’t affect specingfic races , but there was an exception. There was never any laws against

when the white women who were using opiates in the 1800s. I believe that was very unfair

toward
s other people and race. If drugs should be abolished there shouldn’t be any exceptions but

equal privileges to every race or people. Everyone has their own reason
on why the or she may use

drugs and sometimes it may be beneficial for the person.
