For my community project, I refurbished a room in my church youth basement so we could do bible study in it. As a Boy Scout, I had been honing my leadership skills, and this project was my chance to make a difference. More so than that, I was serving my God in the best way I could think of, while doing the project. As I began my evaluation stage, I saw that the room had mold, wall damage, ceiling damage, and various other issues. I also had a variety of fundraising events I headed like car washes, collecting cans, getting donations from Lowe's, and sofa donations. By the end of the project, I was able to completely refurbish the room, and make it a comfortable place to do bible study. Something that made it particularly special was me being able to lead younger scouts in helping me with my project, and being able to stencil the lord's blessing on one of the walls. I was responsible for everything, and my parents only played the role as help and drivers. To this day, we use it for bible study, and devotions.
