“There I was, staring out at the sea, watching the waves rip through my suit, soaking them in the salty water with my briefcase,. I knew then, that I had wasted my life away.

I grew up in a small fisherman’s village. When I was a young lad,
my father wasn’t home much, (he was a whaler,), but when he was, my eyes would light up with joy,. I aspired to be just like him. My mother worked at the bait and tackle shop downtown. I remember running around the fishing docks, and staring in awe during the sunset, at what the fishermen would catch. We had no television, we had no computer. I spent most of my days outside. I wish I could go back.
As I got older
, I remember despising school. I couldn’t stand the fact that I had to sit at a desk for six hours a day, learning things that bored me to death. Every day, when I got home from school, I would beg my mother to let me drop out. hHowever, I remember her reply every time I asked.: “You need to go to school, to get a good job and make money.”
