Abandoned dogs that live in shelters have very different types of sexpellriences. Some manage to be adopted fairly quickly, while others do not have that chance. Many of these unfortunate animals spend several years in these shelters, and can even spend their lives there. Generally, the staff of these institutions does their best to give them decent living conditions, but they can not match those of a home and family.

Olive, a friendly female, waited for 11 years before finding a host family. This dog was chollecsted by the Yonkers Animal Shelter, an animal shelter in New York State, while still a puppy. She hwads almost been adopted four years after her arrival at the shelter, but the adoption hadid not finhally matpperializedn for a reason that is unknown. Over the years, volunteers from the Yonkers Animal Shelter havd become attached themselves to Olive, but at the same time, they hoped with all of their hearts that she cwould find a definitiorever home.
