In Indonesian waters, information on the pattern of reproduction of sea urchins is still very limited. Studies on the pattern of reproduction of sea urchins have been recorded on T. gratilla obtained from the waters of Nusa Dua-Bali and Kupang Bay. The results showed a peak of the reproductive season of T. gratilla from Nusa Dua-Bali waters occurred in December (Darsono & Sukarno, 1993). While in Teluk Kupang it occurred in July and December (Agnette et al., 2010). Unfortunately, the information produced by both studies was 'inferred' from the data obtawhinedch was partially obtained so that the information presented was inadequate.
