On the map she noticed a square named Punkeydoodles’ Corner. The square was close to the cemetery, which was also close to the town school. She got the map, put it in her school bag and went back to bed. When Claire and Simon got out of school the following day, Claire showed Simon the map. They immediately started looking for Punkeydoodles’ Corner. They went to the park where there used to be a beautiful fountain. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by a giant thunderstorm that blew down the trees surrounding it. They climbed over the trees and arrived toat the other side of the park. As if by magic happened, Simon suddenly fell into a hole. Claire heard a “thump”, she turnturned around and saw Simon at the bottom of the hole. Claire went down into the hole, too. WithTo their great surprise, they had arrived toin what seemed like a magical world, with strange creatures flying around as if they were ghosts. They started to explore this strange place and they soon realized that the place was the same as Golding town, except everything seemed new and recently built.
