Electronic diplomacy, which is also known as digital diplomacy, or Digiplomacy, is the use of the new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the internet for the achievement of the objectives of the diplomacy. It is the use of the platforms of the social media and the ICT in conducting public diplomacy. There has been a significant impact on the diplomacy due to the vast development of ICT in the 21st century. This has led to a diplomacy that is facilitated by the digital technology. The flourishing diplomacy is due to the ICT tools which has compressed time and space in the international political environment. There is the manifestation of government officialofficials and diplomats on the social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, and they have also created private networks known as intranets within the foreign ministries and the departments. Some developed countries have harnessed these tools in the conduct of their diplomacy in order to accelerate the realization of their foreign policy objectives. For instance, foreign ministries have severally gone through communication revolution that is technological-driven. This research looks at the case of developing countries with emphasis on Kenya. The extent in which Kenya has applied ICT to the conduct of its diplomacy is examined in this research and also the benefits of the e-diplomacy and the challenges that it incurred. The findings of this research isare outlined by knowledge and expertise in adopting e-diplomacy in Kenya. It is evident in this research thethat communication plays a big role in diplomacy, and therefore ICT enhances this role.
