After participating for two years, in my penultimate year, I got an opportunity to be a part of the organizing team of our college technical fest, "Technovation 2K18". During organizingthe organization of it, I and my team (15 core team members and total 50 member team) faced significant challenges in hosting the event successfully. As our college management was unable to provide us with funds for organizing the fest, we had organized it through local fundraising. Being the sponsorship team head, in our meetings with our prospectprospective sponsors, we had a hard time convincing them for support a due to a lot of comparison with some eminent, high brand value institutes of the city, such as MNNIT and IIIT Allahabad. Further, as coaching institutes came out as our major willing sponsors, again we had a hard time convincing our college committee for them beingto be advertised on the campus. We did gross negotiations with both our college committee and the sponsors. Middle paths were carved out, for instance, no seminars by coaching tutors were held inat the college campus, but we hosted rich hostel session were they (sponsors) cancould interact freely with students. We raiseraised in the tune of approximately 1.5 lakhs rupees, which helped us to put up a great experience for the students. Being a core team member and playing an instrumental role in decision makingdecision-making in the critical budget state was a pressure task. OrganisationOrganising this event successfully is onea significant accomplishment so far in my life.
