I remember this day like it was yesterday. I already wanted to start a majorette team since freshman year. However, a team got started anyway, through our old History teacher, Mr. Clemons. That was an amazing year, since the team was perfect and everything was going well. Unfortunately, he left us and from there, everything went downhill. The current captains got in trouble and ended up getting expelled from the school. Our team was in jeopardy at the point. That was my opportunity to get that captain spot. My dance teacher, Ms. K, had everyone who wanted to be a captain explain briefly why they were the best fit for that particular spot. Everyone else on the team had to vote, it. It was pretty tough. A week later, we were at practice and Ms. K had a big huge announcement. She announced the new captain of the team, and guess who got that spot?! It was me! That moment made me feel so happy, special, appreciated, and most importantly, confident. It was one of the best moments of life.
