For my IMRAD report, I would like to analyze the issue related toof HPV (Human(human papillomavirus) vaccination in Kazakhstan, which has the potential in preventingto prevent cervical cancer.
HPV is a viral infection that is transmitted between people through sexual contact. The main threat of HPV for women is that some genotypes with high oncogenic risk under certain conditions can lead to the development of cervical cancer.
TheA paper published in 2019 clearly shows the current cervical cancer situation in Kazakhstan: it is the second mostsecond-most commonly occurring cancer type among women.
I want to choose this topic because Kazakhstan refuses vaccination due to the public's poor perception, even though HPV leads to cervical cancer, which has a high mortality rate in low- and middle-income countries. Furthermore, vaccination is currently the only primary method for cervical cancer prevention.
