If I had to describe circumstances that impact my GPA while in college, I would have to say the biggest impact was my mother getting very sick with bacterial meningitis
and me having to return home and help with my siblings. My freshman year was great my
gpaGPA was good! When my mom got ill my sophomore year, I got a job and worked 40 hours so iI could send money money home to help. By the next spring semester, she was getting no better so I made a decision to return home and help. beingBeing one of the oldest siblings iI feel like it was only right. My mother had bacterial meningitis not once but twice, and thank God she’s still alive today but the aftermath of having it is that she gets sick very easyeasily and that her sickness can last a very long time. My gpaGPA dropped because of this, but I’m grateful that it’s not totoo bad and that I returned to school to raise it even more.

The responsibility that I had
werewas taking care of my family. As, as my mother is a single mom and has always done the best she could. MeWith my going off to college and my mom struggling and getting sick iI felt it was only correct for me to get a job and send money home. Yes, working 40 hours a week while trying to keep up with my studies was hard but it was my responsibility, and I am happy that I can give back to my mom even if it’s just a little.
