As a member of the Good Counsel community, I plan to make a difference by fulfilling the core values I always try to live by, which include kindness, respect, positivity, and perseverance. At my current school, I enjoy being a good role model and mentor for younger students, and I would love to have a similar experience in high school. Another important example of modeling kindness is by being an upstander; if I see someone being mistreated, I will intervene and model kindness, respect, and empathy. I fulfill my core value of positivity by always making an effort to see the good in people and situations instead of just focusing on the negatives, which I believe helps people explore a different perspective on life. Over the years, I have demonstrated perseverance when it comes to facing challenges, whether in school or when acquiring difficult new skills, like in karate, and I always give a hundred percent in everything I do. By keeping these core values in mind as I progress through high school, I hope to set an example for others and make a positive contribution to GC.
