The Thundering Night
Boom! As theThe sound of thunder and lighting struck the house. Harper and Hayden shouted in fear as they began running with flashlights towards the creepy basement. Harper ran to and fro lighting candles, getting snacks, and screaming loudly;, as the storm continued to get worseworsened. The boom!boom and bang!bang of the thunder got louder and louder, the big rain drops hitting the window shookwindohook the whole house, the burning smell of lavender scented candles scattered throughout the quiet house, and the fast wind movingmoved quickly through the trees as the storm continuedraged throughout the night. The children screamed and cried anxiously, as they held onto each othersother's shaking body’s ;while theyand watched the news throughout the night. The lights began to flickerflickered on and off as the storm began to come to an endabate. The smell of the blown out lavender candles filled the air, as well as the smell of freshly popped popcorn. AsThroughout the night continued the children watched the news and ate their unhealthy comfort food as the reporter began talking about the disasters the storm had caused. As the storm improved, the children headed back up their squeaky stairs to only see that the sky was a bluish gray color. They continued up the stairs and as they looked out the door the neighborhood was quiet. All they could hear waswere the fast winds going through the trees, and the big raindrops still hitting the windows. At last the children began calmingcalmed down and finally went to bed.
