To describe It is Always Sunny in Philadelphia is a task akin to describing the economy. Always Sunny in Philadelphia, created by Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhanneyMcElhenney in 2005 on the FX network, fallowsfollows “the gang” that consistconsists of Dee Reynolds, Charlie Kelly, Frank Reynolds, Dennis Reynolds, and Mac. To put it nicely, “the gang” as they call themselves, are a group of the most terrible, sociopathic, co-dependent, morally bankrupt humans to ever exist. The show was created in the image of a traditional sitcom, but it is designed to be the complete and utter opposite of these traditional family sitcoms. None of the troupes of a traditional sitcom are present, in fact the show sometimes pokes fun at these sitcoms and the simple worlds and relationships they construct. The gang never learns their lesson at the end of an episode, often they concluded that isconclude being worse off thenthan they were at the beginning of an episode.
