An island of eternal spring
I have just recently visited Madeira, thea Portuguese island in the middle of the oceanAtlantic Ocean, after my friend told me that it is the best destination where to spend a vacation.
We stayed for 2 weeks in a lovely apartment in one small coastal city, away from the touristtouristy area. Since we wanted to have a taste of the local culture, we dined out in many local restaurants, and we were satisfied with all of them. What I was impressed the most by, was the stunning beauty of the landscape. It is a great place for those who like walks, as there are hundreds of walking opportunities, especially in the mountains and along the Levadas. The weather is always suitable for hiking because Madeira is known as anthe island of eternal spring for its pleasant climate during the wholethroughout the year.
On the other hand, due to the mild temperatures, I wouldn't recommend going to Madeira to the „beach persons”"beach persons". Not only is the weather unsuitable for sunbathing, but also there is a lack of beaches. To make Madeira more attractive to tourists, more sandy beaches should be builtcreated there. Some water attractions would be a great idea, as well. Another minus is that it is almost necessary to rent a car if you do not want to restrict yourself to traveling by bus, which is quite unpleasant due to the shortage of bus stops and the bad travel connections.
But, overall, Madeira is worth visiting for theits natural wonders, interesting walks, friendly and welcoming locals, and delicious foodcuisine. All nature lovers will have an unforgettable, wonderful time in Madeira!
