The Unstoppable Culinary Journey



I am Biruk from Land of Origins Ethiopia
&, born in the city of Bahirdar where, being a male chef is highly discriminated andagainst and hated. but starting from myI started at an early age thewhen my talent to cook which is, inspired by my chef mother, begunbegan to show up. My age, &plus the negative comments from my community, wasn't an obstacle for me. atAt the age of 12, I joinjoined the Escoffier Culinary School atin my home town, and I was the first young boy and the youngest student in the history of the school to be the youngest student. After one year I becomebecame the first young cook in the region in workingto work as a Pastry Chef at 5-star resorts, bythrough internship, for more than 2 months. When I joinjoined high school at the age of 15, I gethad the chance to be the first young cook to participate in the worldworld’s top culinary college which is, prepared by The Institute of Culinary Education which is found in the culinary capital of the USA, New York City, in the program of #2017 ICE Culinary Voice Scholarship being onin the Top 50 from around the globe. In my school I have worked freely in teaching, sharing also in Livelive cooking atin different programs & occasions. When I look back I just beam really surprised by how I comecame through in this way, and how the walls servesserved me as a pressure tool to show what is given to me and that’s why it makeswhat has made this journey unstoppable whichand says that anyone is able.
