It is commonly believed that playing video games is one of the most popular and practical way waysways of entertainment and education, while other people think that it has several harmful effects on players of different ages. From my perspective, the advantages of video games outweigh the disadvantages. My essay below will analyze both benefits and drawbacks of this activity.
On the one hand, video games are known to create an aggressive behaviour, and lead to isolation and addiction , especially for the children. In other words, many children waste numerous hours on trying to upgrade to the next level or break the recent record, and not reaching their goals can make them angry. Secondly, playing video games for a long period of time can cause physical problems such as eye discomfort, obesity, and headaches, since players get easily immersed in the game, remain physically inactive, and forget to take a break.
On the other hand, I think that video games have multiple merits. Like, like helping children learn faster. To clarify the concept, it is known that children are attracted by sounds and colors, so making them learn using video games can be more effective than other traditional ways of learning. So when learning becomes fun, learners will remain curious and ask for more. Besides, playing video games can be used as a reward after a long day of hard workingwork either for children or for adults. This method can be an excellent way of motivatimotivation.
Although it is undeniable that playing video games can cause several mental and physical problems if used without moderation, I believe that players can earn multiple benefits from it.
