“What kind of music do you like?” I guess that’s one of the most popular questions among young people of the Worldworld. Does it mean that we stop listening to music and getting pleasure from it with the age? Of course, not! We just give up trying to find friendship based on similar musical tastes. When we become adultadults, most of us usually havefind the closest friend ofin life (and a lover at the same time) or even a spouse, and exactly this personperson often shares our musical preferences exactly. I would say that music becomes more intimate for us with age.
So, what kind of music do I like? Before I met my husband, I preferred only classical music because I thought that modern music iswas completely stupid and useless (all of my friends listened to the worst examples of pop music). But when I met him, I was surprised to know that there is a whole ocean of great, and smart, and sensual, and shrill music in very different styles (even in pop music!). Although he listened to almost every genres of music, most of all he loves rock and metal. His most favorite band of all is Tool. Naturally, this wonderful and extraordinary band became one of themy most favorites for me as well.
To my mind, this is absolutely not surprising considering my old love of classical music. Some of you may becomebe at a loss: what’s similar between classicsclassical and progressive metal? I would love to reply.
