MyThroughout my whole life, people have told me what I should wear, what I should say, and how I should act as a young woman. It took me a long time to break the mold that the world has shaped me into, and now that I am who I want to be, I get criticized for the things that make me who I am. Being that I’m older now and I can reflect on the things I went through growing up, I can see that a lot of the feedback I got was cultivated from the hate and insecurities inside the people who were giving it to me it. I was always shamed for dressing too provocatively, having a crude sense of humor, and unapologetically being myself. I still struggle with criticism from these things but I no longer care because it is who I am, and the only person who needs to accept me is me. I think it's time women understand that you can dress, talk, and act however you want. You don't owe the world anything and the only standards that matter are your own, so stop letting the world make you feel like you owe it something. I think the world is simply overpopulated with insecure, angry, sad people who feel the need to try to control everyone around them. My message to the world is this: please, mind your own business.
